Which macOS version is installed?

From the Apple menu  in the corner of your screen, choose About This Mac. You should see the macOS name, such as macOS Mojave, followed by its version number. If you need to know the build number as well, click the version number to see it.

This example shows macOS Catalina version 10.15 build 19A583.

Which macOS version is the latest?

how can I update nano from the current build that OS X uses to the most recent version?

There are a few other utilities I'd like to update too but this is the msot important. I'd like to add color to nano when editing files and apparently there are some errors with in the defult include files.

Rsa securedid software on mac. After you install the Token app, you separately import a software token. You use your PIN and the current OTP to access protected resources, such as your VPN client. With the token installed, the app generates one-time passwords (OTPs).

I'm using the default sample nanorc and sh.nanorc html.nanorc python.nanorc files.

When I open nano I get errors saying 'magic command not understood' and 'header comand not understood' Newer version of nano apparently fixes these issue on Ubuntu so I'm hoping that they take care of this issue on OS X as well.

I've tried downloading the source and i ran

./configure

make

make install

and still when I type 'nano -V' I'm still on the old version.

Hopefully if I can figure out how to update this to the newest version I can do the same for tcpdump and a few other programs as well.

Thanks for you help,

Grant

Example:

Error in /usr/local/share/nano/perl.nanorc on line 4: Command 'header' not understood

Press Enter to continue starting nano.
